Runderbird 4 marathon with Phoenix, 24.05.2021

My last Thunderbird escapade was probably a few decades ago, watching Blue Peter and building Tracy Island out of loo rolls.

This morning's return to Tracy Island was F-A-B !!! Along with other members of International Rescue, I ran with Craig (AKA - Saint Fergal) for 8 laps along the Blue Bridge route from Elmbridge Leisure Centre to Walton Bridge and back. Our most persistent opponent at present is The Weather (AKA - The Hood), which today alternated at quite alarming frequency between gentle spring and deep winter, with some more hail monsoons in between.

London is definitely getting busy again, the number 26 bus, even at 05:50 was quite full, and there were plenty of people going about their business at Waterloo. Thanks Rohan for the lift from the Walton station to the start of the run! Thanks to this, we started at 07:30 which is the earliest I've ever started a marathon!

Great day on the towpath with plenty more long lost friends found! Well done to everyone on their respective epic challenges (21 in 21, TiTs, FiTs, 32 in 32, 24 in May etc etc - so many, all so impressive!!)

Lovely medal - the Thunderbird 4 (Gordon's yellow submersible).  Thanks Rik and Phoenix for a great event (and soup)!

Thank you Craig for Amazing Monday! And for dedicating the "32 Marathons in 32 Days" challenge to my friend Hannah's fundrasing page for her cancer treatment. 12 weeks of the treatment that Hannah is paying for privately (in addition to her NHS chemo) has cost around £60,000 so she is urgently aiming to raise £200,000 so she can continue the treatment. Craig is now on day 25/32 marathons and is blasting through them with the ease of a well oiled Thunderbird. Thank you so much Craig, you are the best!! 💛💛💛

Off to make Tracy Island from all the stockpiled loo rolls from Lockdown #1.
