Zeus And The Thunderbolt V The Gods Marathon, Phoenix Running, 19.09.2021

Back to Denbies Vineyard, for the Zeus and the Thunderbolt Versus the gods run, AKA Clare's 100th marathon and Lesley's 100th half marathon, with Phoenix Running!

That was a GRAPE day. Thank you Andrew and Sarah for the 8 CORKING laps of fun, chats and laughter! My partners in WINE! Plenty of hills, made for plenty of REISLINGS to take a leisurely pace, and stop and smell the ROSÉ.

I BOTTLED it down a hill on lap 3. But no time to feel MERLOT. Thank you Sarah and Andrew for picking me up. And Rik for repairing me at the aid station - well, if you can't get PLASTERED in a vineyard, where can you? 

Made it to the last lap before it started POURING, but nothing could dampen our FIZZ as we got to see both Clare and Lesley wear their brand new, hard earned, shirts at the end. Well done lovely ladies! SIP SIP hooray!! 

Ran into (suprisingly, I know, this is not a pun) Tara at the end, who had been out running herself. Had chips and paninis together in our lockdown marquee, and talked to a gentleman from the Ramblers Association about footpaths. What a VINE and dandy ending!

You'd be hard PRSESSED to have a better Sunday. Thanks Rik and Team Phoenix for a first GLASS event, as always!
